activities led to a Club scholarship award her senior year in high school.
Amanda exhibited leadership qualities throughout her soccer career. She

She obtained the honor of All-division her last two years of high school.

joined Corner Kick International as a coach and office manager utilizing
her background as a player, coach and sports marketer with Eurosport
and the PGA Tour. Coach
Carlos Alberto Forero.
Carlos
began coaching in the 1990’s
with an under 11 boys team at the Chelsea pier in Manhattan,
New York. In
his first
year with the team, the Arrows, he led them to first place
from sixth and won a three-month indoor tournament. Following
this win, the team joined the Weschester Youth Soccer League
playing out of Manhattan Soccer Club. The team won their
division two years in a row moving them up to division one.
That same year the Arrows received the opportunity to participate
in the ENY Premier League. For three years they were undefeated
in this League. In addition, the Arrows played in the Cosmopolitan
Junior Soccer League from 2001 to 2003. They made it to the
final each year, where they won twice. They advanced to the
finals of the state cup during these years. Finally in 2004,
the team advanced to the Regionals followed by the Nationals
where they placed third.
Throughout the years from ’02 -‘04, the Arrows joined the
New York Freedoms Franchise and played in the Super Y-League National
Championship. In 2002, they won the Nationals going undefeated beating
the Cleveland Crunch 6 to 1 in the final. In 2003, the Arrows played
again under the NY Freedoms name and placed third. Their final year playing
in 2004, they played under the name of Red Storm Academy, where they
made it to the final, but lost 2 to 1 in overtime. In addition to this
exceptional record, the Arrows also participated in various tournaments
including the Disney Showcase, Score at the Shore, Tampa Bay Sun Bowl,
Wallkill Thunder College Showcase, Trumball CT and many elite indoor
tournaments.
Carlos Forero’s comprehension of soccer is gleaned from his extensive
international playing and winning teams experience. As a young boy he
played for the B.W. Gottschee in the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League.
For eight years this team won the championship. He then advanced his
career and joined a team called the Nacional in the Pan-American (Spanish)
League. During the years that he played on this team, they were always
ranked in the top five. Following this team, Carlos traveled to South
America, where he trained and learned with some of the best teams in
the world. He trained with Danubio in Montevideo, Uruguay, a division
two team. He was then given the opportunity to observe and learn from
the professional team in Buenos Aires, Argentina, River Plate. Here he
studied the different coaching techniques and the footskills program
that he has had the chance to incorporate in America.
The knowledge that Carlos has brought back from South America has enabled
him to lead his teams in the United States to many victories. His coaching
style is truly unique and exhilarating. Not only has he learned from
his own traveling experience, but he has also had the opportunity to
coach with several amazing college coaches such as: Dave Masur, Head
coach of St. John’s University, John Diffley, former U.S. national
player, and Luis Fernando Herrera, who played on the Colombian National
Team for three World Cups. These influential people have all aided Carlos
with his personal success as a soccer coach.
His personal objective is to guide and teach players. He believes that
the fundamentals and the techniques are the most important tools to
learn this beautiful sport. Carlos has developed a footskills program,
called
Corner Kick Kickskills?, in which the main focus is on balance and
control. He is able to do this with discipline, respect and dedication
plus he
understands how to be supportive and attentive in order to grow. As
a coach, he evaluates every player to better understand where the focus
should be customized.
Carlos is enthused to pass on and share his passion for the sport with
young players. He thinks that everyone can always improve; by practicing
everyday one can stretch their limits to become a better player as
well as a better person.
